Hoosick may benefit from shared services

Douglas said she had the purchase of a street-sweeper in mind, should Hoosick get grant money out of a partnership. She said the cost is currently too high to justify, but said the school district could use a sweeper to clean its parking lot.

The grant application is still in its early stages, said Hoosick Falls Central School District Superintendent Ken Facin. He said the school might be seeking to purchase bus tires if the school board decides to go along with the grant application.

"As we peruse this, I think we are going to find a lot more common ground," he said, adding that saving tax payers money is a priority.

Gregory said there will be a meeting of interested parties in early December to go over questions regarding the grant. She said the application for the phase one grant was due...
